  1. For those of you who are looking for more info on the G.R.I.T.’s or the G.I.’s, we should have a link on the church website that you can see under the G.I.’s page or the G.R.I.T.’s page.

  2. Hello….. I just felt like some of my thoughts on the 3D’s for today as I don’t have my trainer persons email yet…. So if u see this great… if not oh well J
Noah is one of my favorite bible characters. He just had SO much faith! I mean, ok imagine you live in….Texas….. And you are just sitting there.. Eating your breakfast.. Then all of a sudden you hear this voice from the sky telling you to build this huge boat… big enough to fit two of every type on animal on the earth. Noah had never seen rain before…. A mist came up from the earth to water the vegetation and such. (Genesis 2:6)…… he had probably never seen a body of water lager than a lake. And here is God telling him that water is going to fall from the sky and flood the earth. But here is the cool part, Noah did not ask questions. In Genesis 6:22 it says Thus did Noah; According to all that God commanded him, so did he. I wish I could be that obedient! The first time I read that verse my mouth dropped….. He just DID IT…. He didn’t put it off… he did not question God….. He simply said ok I will do it. Can you imagine the kind of faith that would take? ….. Especially considering he was the only family left on the face of the earth that still walked with god. Can you imagine how hard that would be? Getting laughed at for all those years while he worked on the ark? Hey look, it’s the lunatic that hears voices telling him to build a boat and water will pour from the sky!! Shesh… I could not do that… and then give them another chance and try to save them! Not on my list…… I think The story of Christ is like the story of the ark. A time of judgment came to the earth but God provided a way for those who were faithful to Him to be saved. The ark is symbolic of how God provides a way of salvation for us. By accepting with faith what God told him, Noah and his family were saved. Accepting Christ with faith saves us.

From Noah, we learn the basics of Christianity. From the beginning, God has only asked that we have faith in Him to provide for us and take care of us. From the beginning, God has protected and spared those who have had faith in Him. Sometimes it doesn’t look like we are protected or safe. But, the safety that we have is not anchored to this world. Our safety is eternal life granted to us by Christ’s redeeming work on the cross. This we accept by faith, just as Noah accepted by faith that a flood would come and the ark would protect him. Jesus is our ark, our salvation, and our protection. Without faith, we have nothing. We are left behind to the flood. God didn’t want for any of those people to die. Matthew 18:14 says, “Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.” But to save them He would have had to take away His gift to them, their free will. ….. Amazing story…. I think……….. OPPS SORRY GUYS! DIDN MEAN TO WRITE A BOOK HERE!!! Haha ok then see ya!!!!!!

  3. Hey G.I’s and G.R.I.T.’s I wanted to share all I learned today with you! I only have one of my G.I.’s e-mails, so I hope the other one reads it here. Here it goes.

    Genesis 6:1-22

I find it interesting that God took notice to Noah. One man out of however many there were. Imagine the peer pressure he was put under to do bad. But he stayed righteous and it took God’s notice. That is incredible to me! I like how it says “and he walked with God” I wonder if he was as close as a prophet? If he actually communicated with God. I think so, but then again I’m not exactly a theologian.

The ark was huge! And just for the fun of it I’m going to bring up the big “were there dinosaurs on the ark” debate. What do you think? It’s probable. Sure people say what about the T-Rex and the other big ones? Why couldn’t they have been eggs? If Noah was in fact communicating with God, I’m sure HE would let Noah know if he had grabed two eggs destined to be female or male. Then again they were on the ark for 18 or so months (if I’m not mistaken). So, that would be enough time for the eggs to hatch, right? Not sure. This would be a fun topic to debate.

“Noah did everything just as God commanded him.” Now that is some serious faith. Noah didn’t question it, he didn’t resent it, he didn’t turn his back on God. He did it just as God said. Imagine THAT peer pressure. Or even the mockery of it. 100 years of being called a lunitic and a fool while building this massive boat that would protect them from “water falling from the sky” They’d never heard of such a thing. If someone told me it was going to rain chocholate I’d tell them where the nearest loony-bin was. If I was sure they’d heard it from God that would be another story. But if I were corrupted with sin as these people were that would be my response. What would you say if I told you God told me it would rain chocholate?

    Hebrew 11:7

Wow! This is a packed verse! I love how the author worded it “…his faith condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness…” I never thought of it that way. What if Noah had turned his back on God and said “NO WAY!” Would God have destroyed everyone. Would we have never existed – only been a future never to come? Would HE have made a new world with a new man who had no free will. So, he would obey God no matter what? Should be thankful Noah condemned our ancestors?

  4. A little note from Sergeant Rockich. I’m enjoying reading your comments on the 3D’s. Keep it up! Make sure to be at church tomorrow night, Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m.

I was thinking about the oomments on Noah from Carl and Morgen. I want everyone to think what was going through Noah’s head when God told him to build the ark. I believe that if Noah walked with God, then Noah knew the character of God and that God is worthy of our trust. So, maybe it was easy for him, or maybe not. Either way, I agree with Morgen, I’m glad that Noah said yes. I’m also glad that Jesus said yes and now He is my authority and He will deliver me not just from hell but from the power and presence of sin.

    Hoo-Rah! Over and Out!

  5. Ok well once again… Abraham shows excellent faith. I know some of this was not in the verses we were assigned to read… but i would just like to point out the numerous times he showed trust and faith to God.
in genesis chapter 12……. He was told to leave his own land, and his own people, and travel to a country that God would show him….. he had no idea where he was going. I wonder how we would feel if we got such a message? (And of course traveling was far more difficult and far more dangerous in those days.) ….. then when he got there… Lot chose the best of the land and Abraham was left to find pastures for his flocks and herds in the more barren parts of the country. But God was with Abraham, and enlarged upon the promises He had made to him in Ur: “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (verses 2,3).
And God blessed Sara and Abraham at there old age… with a son… Later on God asked Abraham to kill his son. can. you. imagine??????? There only son…. the one they waited so long to have. …… Son, let’s go to the mountaintop and offer a sacrifice to God.” Abraham believed his son would be that sacrifice, but Isaac assumed they would sacrifice a lamb. Fully trusting his father, Isaac might have even reached for his father’s hand.
The touch of his son’s hand must have sent shock waves through Abraham’s body. Abraham’s mind was whirring; his thoughts alternated from deliberate obedience and faith… to passionate resistance, hoping that God might change his mind about this unthinkable directive. that is a hard test. Sadly to say… I could not do it….…….. Abraham of course was only human….. He had his slips and trips too…. Such as tricking the pharaoh into believing Sara was his sister and not his wife… and was willing to let the pharaoh have her ……… To spare his own life………. And, for a while, doubting that God could give them a son. But Abraham defiantly makes the list of my favorite bible characters. …. Well that’s all 4 now folks! :) Hopefully ill see ya on Wednesday! Over an’ out

  6. To discuss a little bit from yesterdays reading (well not exactly) Genesis 7:1-5 was very interesting. I did read on im sorry but I hadnt read about Noah for a while so I did last night. Anyway read it and tell me what you think, because if it means what i think it does then some of our songs need to be changed a little bit:)!
Also I agree with both Carl and Morgen about how amazing Noah was for being so obedient to God. It is hard for me to be obedient lots of times. I used to even get upset (thankfully ive been working on it so im not so bad now) when my parents would ask me to do something that would only take me five minutes. I cant imagine having to be listen for 100 years or so and not complaining about it.
    And about tonights…
Abraham like Noah listened to God, they both had to leave friends and probably some family. They are both wonderful role models in this aspect of their lives. I would have had a terrible time leaving my family and friends if God asked me to. I was so happy to have to option to stay home instead of going away to college, you have no idea. now dont get me wrong i did very much want to go to moody out in the state of washington, but leaving my family would have been hard.
    Well, Good night!

  7. Since I couldnt be at church to night I went on with the reading…
Now Moses is a little different from our other 2 people. He did question God and he did have some doubts. Although I would love to say that I am more like Noah and Abraham where listening and obeying are concerned, Im not. I am a lot like Moses in this area, I think I need all of the answers before Im ready to move forward. When really God sometimes asks us to have faith and follow Him without all of the answers. Its hard to do sometimes, but (like Carl said about God blessing Abraham) if we do have “blind” faith there will be blessings that we cant even imagine.
    Also…
God talk directly to Moses and told him that he would be with him and teach him what to say. Exodus 4:12 “Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.” Just imagine God being right there telling you the answer to every question. That would be great wouldnt it? But even though God told Moses He would teach him, Moses still wanted more. Just me lots of times, I have some much and yet I still want more.
Even though Moses angered God with his lack of faith, God still used him. God provided for Moses every need and He didnt give up on Moses. This can be a good reminder for us, just because we do not have the faith of Noah or Abraham God still has a purpose for us and he can still use us. He will provide for our needs and He will fill in for our weaknesses. We just have to try our best and let God do the rest!
    Good night!

  8. good morning all! firstly, i have a question. i notice there are 5 days on our 3Ds sudy paper… thing. i know we skip sunday…. but then what other day do we skip? saterday or wendnesday?…*shrugs* anywho…. if we are supposed to do it on wendsday, i missed it… so i shall do it now… i can always catch up :)

  9. Ok well first of all i noticed that Moses had a great relationship with God. “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” (Exodus 33:11)
“But since then there has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.” (Deuteronomy 34:10)

well actually… so did Noah and Abraham…… but im guessing these two verses are referring to Moses’ encounters with God in the burning bush and on top of Mount Sinai when he received the 10 commandments. even though God initiated making this kind of direct contact with Moses, Moses did not seem afraid to meet God face to face and one on one, now I could be totally wrong, he could have been scared outta his pants….. I just didn’t catch it… so feel free to correct me… It does say that he was afraid of confronting the pharaoh though….which I find rather intriguing … considering he is talking to the creator of the earth….yet he is more intimidated by the pharaoh …….. …in 3:2 it says that an angel appeared to him in the bush… but then in verse 4 it says that God spoke from it…. So then was it really an angel in the bush… or God? Idk…….. The Bible says that when God first manifested His presence on top of Mount Sinai, all of the other Israelites were scared to death of God.
They told Moses that he should go up there and talk with God for them lest they should die from coming into direct contact with the Lord. Here are the exact words out of Scripture of the fear that they had with their own God:
Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” (Exodus 20:19)
Moses was an outstanding man…. Another of my favorites…… ok maybe ALL the bible characters are my favorites!!!! Once again he showed faith to God…… and obedience.
Well thas all fer now…… T.T.F.N.

  10. Just wanted to inform “George” that the bombfire was absolutley AmAzInG!!!! :) i think she did an outstanding job picking the games, and the devotions were an awesome bones….. i have to say that is my new favoratest verse!! :) …… and i am terribily sad she is graduating and will be leaving….. :( ……. well anyway a big HOO-RAH!!!! to George!!!!!

  11. Hello! I’m excited about today’s prophet! I had to do an oral report on him 6 days ago. So, this will be fun.

    Exodus 3:1-4:20

Okay. So the Egyptians are paranoid and are going to unneccicary measures to ensure safety. They have nothing to fear really, if they are treating the Israelites well, why would they turn on them in battle? Now if they treat them like slaves (which they started to do) then it would give them a reason to turn on them so as to free themselves from oppression. Plus, the Egyptians are going to have the wrath of God put upon them…not good! Kudos to the midwifes for fearing God and not killing the boys. That takes faith and guts. BRAVO to them.

    Acts 7:17-36

Same response to the Egyptians as the one above. I like how they say “Moses was not an ordinary child.” because he would grow up to be an inordinate adult. I wonder if Moses knew the whole time growing up that he was an Israelite? If the other palace children mocked him for it. If he were treated like trash when the Pharaoh or Pharaoh’s daughter wasn’t around. I wonder if Pharaoh’s daughter was unable to have children and that’s why she “sank so low” as to adopt an Israelite child. Or if she secretly had compassion for the Israelites and decided to save one. I think it’s cool how Moses avenged his fellow Israelite by killing the guard. It’s symbolic in a way. He will eventually avenge all of Israel by killing a lot of the guard in the Red Sea….Some nonbelievers say that the Red Sea is a misinterpretation and that the real interpretation is the Read Sea (a ’sea’ about 3 ft deep). Well to me that would be all the more amazing! The power of God drowning all those soldiers in 3 ft deep water! WOW!…..ANYWHO back on topic. I don’t know about you but this Israelite sounds like an angsty teenager to me “Who made you ruler and judge?” or in todays terms “You aren’t the boss of me!….Who put you in charge?” I couldn’t help but laugh and him. I think that Moses has one of the COOLEST call stories EVER! This was amazing! An everlasting bush of fire calling out to you! I’d probably pass out or something. I love how God tells him straight off that he has heard the cries of Israel. That HE was paying attention. I just love his call story.

    Hebrews 11:23-29

Here’s the awesome line again. “by faith” I love it. I like the line “He chose to be mistreated along with the poeple of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.” He knew what was instore for him after life. He chose to live for his God and look forward to the greener grass on the other side, than to delight in evil for a short while. He knew an eternity of Shalom and Love was instore for him. If only more people were like that today. He is the father of modern prophets indeed. Another awesome line, “he perservered because he saw him who is invisible.” poetry I tell you, pure poetry. If you perservere through trials, then your faith grows. (that is a major paraphrase of another verse…I can’t remember the refrence for the life of me).

  12. Day 4 – Jesus

I was wondering why the name of the person we’re learning about is in “parenthesis” I suppose their names could be considered a direct quote from the Bible. Or maybe (probably) it’s for emphasis. I don’t know. Random question. ON TO JESUS!

    1 Corinthians 11:3

This is a challenging verse for me. Maybe it’s the society I’ve grown up in thus far. Maybe it’s just my human nature to rebel. Who knows but HIM. Unfortunately my first reaction to this verse was NO WAY! I don’t want man to come before me. But then I thought about it. The whole fall and woman’s curse, how we can never truly be equals. It made me want to live in the past generations. Back when men did go before women, but it wasn’t a tyranny. Like in the time when I Love Lucy was popular. When men would always tip their hats to a lady and a lady never heard a swear. Now they scarcely hold a door for us. Oh well. So the line goes God –>Christ–>man–>woman cool. When they say Christ I wonder if they mean Jesus or any king. Oh what I wouldn’t give for a concordance right now.

    John 5:19-27,43

Yet again the whole confusing trinity thing comes into play. Also, the whole Jesus being 100%man and 100% God at the same time.

So, I’m not sure but I’m going to assume this is a parable. So, HE’s trying to explain heavenly things with earthly understandings. How a Father will teach HIS Son his trade (job) and how the Son will follow in HIS footsteps. If the Father doesn’t teach the Son the trade, then the Son cannot do it, for HE cannot do what HE does not know….I like how the interpreter or author made Father and Son proper nouns, to save confusion as to who Jesus was talking about….Moving on the the prophetic aspects of this passage. HE’s talking about how HE is fulfilling the prophecies. “a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God” (dead meaning spiritually dead, not physically). Verse 43 has a sad truth in it. As humans we tend to believe what we see. If someone comes in the name of Santa then were going to ignore them probably because we know (believe but we’re stubborn so we say know) that there is no Santa Clause. If someone comes in the name of his boss Joe Schmo then we will listen to what they have to say. Let it be put on the record that Santa is dead (Nicholas died a long time ago) but that Jesus who is eternal still lives, and is much more important than Santa (sorry Santa).

    John 16:27-28

Ya more fun questions. Does this mean that God doesn’t love us if we don’t believe that Jesus came from HIM? Or does he simply not know us. Though in Jeremiah 1:5 it says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” Or was this simply meant for Jeremiah? [who by the way has the COOLEST call story(in my opinion)....sorry Moses]. Again the Bible is like poetry, “I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”

    John 17:3

So, this is talking about how you get eternal life. Faith, belief, what ever you want to call it. Knowing that God is the one true God and that HE sent HIS Son Christ Jesus.

  13. First…
I want to say thanks to Carl. What you said means a lot to me! So THANKS!!!!!!
    Second…
John 5:26-27, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.”
I think it is interesting that God (the Father) gave Jesus authority to judge. This was very smart (now I know God is brillant just work with me here okay) and it reminds me of our courts today. We have a jury of peers that judge us, were we to stand on trial. They are there to make sure that the trial is fair. And since Jesus was man, He is our peer and therefore He can make a fair judgement and no can complain, so to speak.
And even though He could have condemned us all He still chose to obey God and make a way for us to be saved! Isnt it just overwhelmingly amazing?!
    Third…
Eph 2:4-5, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;”

1John 4:9-10, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Morgen I hope these verses can answer your question better than I can. I think God loves everyone no matter if you believe in Jesus or not. At some point all of did not believe in Jesus. But no matter how much He does love us He is God and He is a just God. He cannot be around sin, and when a sin is commited there are consequences. And God being who He is has to allow those consequences to take place.
    Well good night!

  14. Did we get 3Ds 4 this week?? if so, i have failed to get them….. if we did could someone give me the verses?? please an’ thank u :)

  15. In response to Carl:
    Monday I Samuel 7:1-17
    Tuesday I Samuel 23:1-12
    Thursday John 17:1-26; Luke 11:1-13
    Friday Philippiams 4:5-7
    Saturday James 4:1-17
We also have a memory verse: James 1:5 (This will be recited during Sunday School.

To all our G.I.’s and G.R.I.T.’s,
Don’t forget to think of John Mark in your prayer time. He left yesterday and we will miss him a lot. Also, make sure to put on your calendars June 26th & June 27th for the Lodge Overnighter. We will let you know soon what time we will be leaving that Friday.
Make sure to contact your G.I. or G.R.I.T. this week. We all need daily encouragement from the Lord and He can use communication between us and other children of God to do that.

    See you all Wednesday night.
P.S. Vacation Bible School is next week. If you are coming out of 7th or 8th grade, you will be in a class with Renee’s husband Kurt. If you coming out of 9th and up, make sure to pray about volunteering to help out in V.B.S. If you do decide to help, make sure to contact Ona at church.

  16. Todays 3ds is encouraging. It showed how God forgives us when we repent of our sins. God was also quick to answer Samuels prayer for the people too.
Some times when God ddoesnt answer my prayers right away I get discouraged. Sometimes I feel like Hes not listening or doesnt care. I know that that isnt true but i sometimes feel that way.
So just reading these verses is encouraging to me, because even though they were worshiping idols, when Samuel told them to stop and worsip God they did. God then answered Samuels prayers on behalf of the people. And if God is willing to listen when people repent from worshiping other gods, then He will listen to me when I ask for forgiveness for wrong doing, and He will help me when I ask. Even if it isnt right away.
    Good night!

  17. David talked to God and asked his advice. He then listened to God and obeyed. All because David asked and listened he and his men were saved. Thats always a good reminder that if you ask God will answer. and if you listen and obey things will turn out okay in the end.
    Good night!

  18. John 17:15 “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from evil.”
Jesus wanted us to be an example to the whole world so he prayed that we would be able to remain here on Earth. But he did not want us to be without help and protection, so he prayed that we would e protected from evil. So whenever there is a feeling of temptation it would be good to remember that Jesus prayed for help for us.
    Good night!

  19. hello all! im terribly sorry u havnt heard from me in a while…. but i shall strive to post more often.
Philippians 4:5-7 ~ in verse 6 it says~ be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God.
i believe this verse is telling us not to worry-”be carefull for nothing”- which i find to be ALMOST seemingly impossible.. .. this verse is telling us to give are worries to God, to talk to him in prayer and he will direct us. sounds easy enough right?…not in my book….. You would THINK it would be a piece a’ cake: but it can be difficult to put all your trust in God…. And you tend to worry about the simple things in life while God already has everything all planed out. when you start to doubt and worry, stop and pray.
Goodnight, hope at see yall on sunday

  20. Part of the antidote for evil is humility. Pride causes us to value ourselves more-so then God, and it causes us to be self-centered and greedy and we want more!!!!!!! But if we humble ourselves to God… we will see that the things of this world are nothing compared to what God has in store for us
Well that’s all for tonight… as I am getting very tired… so goodnight to all…… ZZZZzzzzzzz

  21. “For The scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” …. is this verse saying that once you are saved then you should not feel ashamed of your faith… or telling others about christ? no… i dont think….. standing up for God and telling others is something you have to pray about and ask God to Strengthen us in. I like to feel accepted by the crowd…. and its hard to step out of that line.. It does not come naturaly. In fact… i find that the moment i even THINK of bringing up my faith and sharing it with someone…. every nerve in my body tells me to find the nearest trash can and throw myself into it…. or something like that…. but im prety sure everyone feels like that sometimes…..
T.T.F.N …. and sorry i could not make it tonight…. se yall later :)

  22. Im sorry that i have not been on for awhile. Since i havent been in our sunday school class i have not gotten the rations. I know that that is not much ofan excuse but its the only one i have.
anyway i have done some reading on my own. i have been reading in proverbs and one verse that stood out to me was Proverbs 27:6 “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” To me this verse is saying that sometimes a friend may not always have the nice advice or the advice you want to hear, but they mean well. While an enemy may say what you want to hear whether it will help you or hurt you.
so listening to our friends and loved ones is something we should all practice because they are the ones who will most likely tell us the truth and what we need to hear.
well thats all i have to say. Oh! and if anyone can post this weeks rations i would appreciate it. Thanks!
    Good night!

  23. Here are the 3D’s for this week, George.
    Matthew 4:1-11
    Hebrews 4:12; Ephesians 6:17
    John 6:63; John 14:26; John 16:13
    2 Corinthians 12:1-10
    Colossians 3:16; James 1:22-25

I want to praise the Lord for the wonderful weekend we had though very tiring and hard to stay awake Sunday morning.

Pam and I have a prayer request. Samuel, #5, has been scheduled for ear surgery to help clear the fluid out of his inner ear canals. Please pray for wisdom. I’m (Scott) still not 100% sure that this is the Lord’s will.

    Thanks! We’ll see everyone Wednesday night for G.I.’s & G.R.I.T.’s!!! Hoo-rah!

  24. Thanks for the 3ds i do appreciate it, but nice-and-helpful carl emailed it to me. and if i just would have checked my email first yesterday i would have had it.
    anyway…
“…and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
this part of the verse really stuck out to me. do we really know what a persons thoughts and intents really are? can we really tell what our own thoughts and intents are? this verse says that the word of God can tell what a person thinks and intends to do. Sometimes it is hard for me to figure out what it is i really want. imagine for a second just how hard it would be for someone else to figure out your thoughts and intentions if you confuse yourself. but God knows your thoughts and they arent confusing to Him. This can go either way when you look at it. You can either not like the fact that God knows everything that you think better than you yourself do, or you can let it give you peace that God knows not only what you think but also your intentions. So even if you do have a bad thought but you really dont want to have it God knows and is prepared to help you overcome that thought.
    Well Good Night! :)

  25. Howdy! I figured since I have not posted this week yet…(my apologies) … I would take the opportunity to catch up today.

MONDAY~ Satan tempted Jesus in the Wilderness … when he was tired, hungry, and alone… making him more vulnerable. It seems to me that Satan attacks when you are most vulnerable, when you are under a lot of stress or pressure… when your tired, lonely, have a big decision to make or facing uncertainty. If Jesus would have given in, his Purpose for coming to earth would have been ruined. When Satan tempts you… he may be trying to destroy Gods purpose for you or someone else.
TUESDAY~ Gods word is not mearly a great big story book, it is life changing if we let it work in us and through us. Through the bible, god tells us who we are and who we are not. To be able to know our creator we have to learn about him…….. And to know Right from Wrong we need instructions….. Everything we need to know is in our bible…. Its like an ultimate survival handbook… that’s the easy part…. For me at least… just reading it….and then completely forgetting about it….. But we have to hold on to it and apply it to our lives. That is the difficult part…. STICKING TO IT.

  26. All i have to say for tonight is i am SO GLAD Jesus did not leave us on our own. what would become of us if we did not have the Holy Spirit to help us? …….. just think about it. we would be more lost then ever!

  27. Attention Attention Attention Attention Attention

These are the 3D’s for Week six – The Armour of God

    Monday – Ephesians 6:10-20
    Tuesday – Joshua 1:1-9
    Thursday – Genesis 15:1; Psalm 28:7; Psalm 115:11; Psalm 91:4
    Friday – 2 Corinthians 6:1-10
    Saturday – Romans 13:1-14

The church copier is out of service. I may still pass out papers on Sunday if it gets fixed. Enjoy our Independence Day!
Always remember the freedom that Christ gave to us when we surrendered to Him. He sacrificed His life for us. Does Christ’s love constrain us to sacrifice everything to Him and for Him?

  28. I find these verses to be somewhat confusing…..half the time i have no idea what paul is talking about, that or i just cant focas today… which is highly probible. but i believe paul is talking about a dream he had??? …… when he says i was given a “thorn in the flesh” it could be that he was talking about some sort of disease or mabey a scar or something like that. he prayed three times for God to take it away. 9) and he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my Strength is made perfect in weakness. and then look at Pauls response in the rest of verse 9&10. ……. Therefore i take PLEASURE in infirmities. ……… For when i am weak then am i strong. those verses realy PoPeD out to me.
have a good night sleep! :) ttfn!

  29. Hiya eveyone!
So God asks us to be doers of the word, right? well He doesnt just leave it as do it and remember it, but He also gives us an incentive. He says that who ever will do it and remember it He will bless them. “…this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:25b. So why wouldnt you want to be a ‘doer of the word’? You make Gog happy by listening and you get blessed for it.
Now I know that at times it is hard for everyone, no matter who you are. But for me when I really think about it being blessed by God is the best thing that could happen to me. And I think about all that I have been blessed with so far, I would do almost anything to keep my blessings. and all God asks is that we be a doer of His word and not just let it go in one ear and out the other.
So what would you do for Gods blessings? What would you do to keep the blessings that you already have?
Think about it. and this is a rhetorical question so you dont have to answer.:)
Good Night everyone! And happy 4th of July!

  30. YEA!!! Today we get to read my favorite verse!
    Anyway…
Joshua 1:5a “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life…” God promised Joshua that if he obeyed the law that no man would be able to stand before him. Can you imagine that? God is on our side and really we have the same promise. So why do we get scared of standing up for God? He promises to be there for us and help us all along the way.
    Good Night! :)

  31. I love psalms 91… its one of my absolute FaVoRaTeS!

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him i will trust. Surely he will delever thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shild and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilense that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. a thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee.

and of course i had to put my FaVoRiTe part here. :) i dont know about you; but when i read these verses.. it brings me alot of comfort. well thats all i have to say for now. hope everyone has a GREAT night!

  32. You know how we have been talking about blessings, and how most people when they think about God they think about what they can get from him.
Well… Genesis 15:1b says, “I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”
What if we started to think about God as our reward. How much of our thinking would that change, if we started to work for God to be in our lives AS our blessing?
Now I know that God gave himself as a free gift to man, but if we would start to realize the blessing that God himself is instead of looking for other blessings, I think we would be much happier.
    Good night!

  33. …… Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself

  34. awe man! i did not mean to post the above….. sorry

  35. Who is anonymmous?

  36. LOL…. sorry Anonymmous would be me…. and me would be carl…. my computer was being crazy and every time i hit the “space bar” it would highlight submit comment, then when i went to type it submited it….. :( evil computer…..

  37. :) You all are pretty funny you know that?
Anyway todays 3ds are… interesting ones. All of the verses out of this passage and the next really spoke to me. They talk about giving God your whole heart, just like Christ gave up his life. this is so hard for me, and it is something that I struggle with all the time. How do you really give your whole heart? Sometimes I get so close, and then a little while later I take it all back. ITS SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!
Well Im going to go now. Please pray for me! and ill be praying for everyone else too.
    Good night!

  38. These verses are hard to read because they are so true. How many times do we, or I, say “I want to follow Christ and do what He wants” and then not really take the time to think about what that really means? It really makes me think and look at my heart. Do I really want to follow after Christ or do I just want to meet Him half way? Which really gets me nowhere.
    Night!

  39. Here are the 3d’s for this week on Intercession
    Day 1 – 1 Timothy 1:18-2:6; Isaiah 53:12; Luke 22:37
    Day 2 – Romans 8:26-27
    Day 3 & 4 – Numbers 14:1-45
    Day 5 – 1 Kings 19:10,14; Romans 11:2-3

  40. Thank you Sergeant Rockich!!!! It was making it a little hard to blog when I didnt know what we were supposed to be reading. Yes it was my fault for not asking, but still thank you.
Todays verses are kinda nice and in a way they take a load off my mind when I think about praying. Its so hard to know just how to pray, even though Jesus gave us an example. But when you read these verses they say that the Spirit interceeds for us. So really as long as you are praying with a heart set on actually talking to God, and not just doing it because you have to, it doesnt matter how you pray. Because the Spirit will interceed for you and help you.
    Good Bye!

  41. did we get 3 ds for this week? if so i have failed to get them…. would someone be so kind as to give them to me if we did?
